EAPC member Marko Rakar received “Top 10 Who Are Changing the World of Internet and Politics” award in French National Assembly last week. This prestigeous award is given since 1999 to those organizations and individuals who have made a commitment to affecting meaningful political change through use of the Internet and new technologies.
This award is given by political web portal PoliticsOnline and World e-Democracy Forum. This year, award was also sponsored by Politech Institute of Europe and Blog Territorial.
Marko received this award because his work on increasing transparency by exposing the way on how Croatian voters lists are manipulated. Except for this award, his action received support from media and public and also triggerd lawmakers action and one of the proposals for ammending Croatian constitution includes fixes for this situation.
