Leader of the Christian Democrat party of Luxembourg, Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker has won elections but has lost three seats in Parliament. Recent polls indicate that Junckers CSV party win 33.4% of the votes, a fall of 5% since the last elections in 2009. CSV now holds 23 of 60 seats in Parliament.
Before the election, Juncker has been in power for 18 years making him the longest serving Primeminister in Europe. Since its establishment, the CSV party has won every election in Luxembourg – with one exception in 1974.
