Dr. Victor Schmid is founding partner and president of Hirzel.Neef.Schmid.Counselors (1996), the leading firm for strategic and financial communications and public affairs in Switzerland with offices in Zurich, Berne and Geneva. The company brings together international, multicultural experience, tried and tested expertise in communications and crisis management and an extensive network of personal contacts in business, politics and public life. Each of the partners has held senior managerial positions in international companies. Victor Schmid has a wide range of public affairs experience and contacts. He was First Vice President/Head of Corporate Communications of Ascom Holding Ltd., an international company in telecommunications and service automation; press spokesman and head of the press and information department of the Swiss Federal Ministry of Home Affairs and consultant to the former president of Switzerland, Federal Councillor Flavio Cotti; previously communications manager and journalist in various functions. He provides political and strategic counseling to international companies, associations, politicians and government officials. He is a lecturer in communications at universities; member of the Swiss Management Association and Rotary International. Victor Schmid is married to Maria Schmid-Kaiser, a career consultant and has two children.
