EAPC Board Member Thomas Hofer presents the first (and so far only) book that analyzes the campaigns for the Austrian general elections 2008. Together with co-editor and journalist Barbara Tóth, Hofer discusses the strategies of all relevant candidates and their parties. He singles out the most important campaign factors that led to the victory of the Social Democrats against the People's Party as well as the new rise of the far right.

A specialty of the book is that it also contains articles of the leading party managers involved in the 2008 election. These articles provide in-depth knowledge of all party operations throughout the campaign. The behind-the-scenes-character of the book is even deepened by articles of well known journalists that focus on the personality of key candidates (like the new star of the right wing, Heinz-Christian Strache) or the exceptional role of Austria's leading newspaper ("Die Kronenzeitung") throughout the campaign.

One article is also written by EAPC President Christoph Hofinger. He and his polling team focus on the demographics of the election and explain which motives and campaign issues had an influence on the results on elections day.
