Dear all members of the EAPC,
Before my term as President for the European Association of Political Consultants ends, I would like to use this occasion to thank you all for your hard work and dedication towards this association. In my term as President, I have – together with the board – tried to renew the EAPC with regards to the communication to the members. I believe we have developed the organization by launching our new modern website and by communicating via our monthly newsletter.
In my term as President, the EAPC has been hosting successful and exiting annual conferences – once again thanks to the members for this big effort.
Even though the board and I have tried to develop the association, we are sadly experiencing a decline in the membership base. This is and will be a challenge to face for the new President of the EAPC, which will be elected at the annual members meeting. In this respect I suggest that the current Vice-President, Mr. Necati Özkan is elected as new President of the EAPC. Mr. Necati Özkan is the founder and president of Öykü Advertising Agency, a creative advertising agency with offices in Istanbul and Ankara.
I’m confident that Mr. Özkan, together with the dedicated Members of the board, will bring EAPC on the agenda again and strengthen the organization.
When looking at the current situation trough out Europe with the rise of anti-political and totalitarian movements, the raison d’être of the EAPC is more evident than ever. The fundamental EAPC-goals concerning development, support and maintenance of democratic processes is, to my opinion, more vital than ever.
Jan Juul Christensen, President
